Everyone knows that at the end of a school year I get “get outta school itis” worse than the kids and teachers.  I don’t think the traditional educational systems knows (or cares) about the amount of pressure that it put on PARENTS.  Last minute trips, last minute projects, last minute assemblies, schools are a bundle of last minute everything.  Anyways I digress.  So today we took a “vacation” day and hung out together and went to the chiropractor :

Marcus, Jr being adjusted by our chiropractor, his brother and his sister 🙂

We went to the book store and we had good fast food….well we had food.  We danced, we sang and we didn’t do any work at all, today was a total free day.

Marcus Jr. has been growing mentally by leaps and bounds.  This is what he did today:

  • When he wanted lunch he grabbed a plate and fork and came over and asked me for lasagna
  • When we got out of the car at the book store he got out closed his door and came over to me no running or jumping
  • Although, he did running and jumping in the bookstore he came when I called and choose his own book
  • He’s been very verbal about his wants, the whining and crying from not being able to communicate is lessening

Jai Lynn has been doing great also, here is what she did today:

  • Took her clothes to the basement only had to ask once
  • Cleaned up the floor in her room
  • Sang and danced with me today

  • Language is becoming clearer
  • Tantrums lessening

All in all the kids are doing great.  So proud of all of them.  So that is our Friday update hope you enjoyed, we are still doing the same supplements:

We don’t take all supplements everyday, honestly the only two we take consistently are the Divine Child drink and Juice Plus. I watch what they eat and make sure I keep their brains working.

Know in the journey you are not alone, we have come a long way and still have a lot of ground to cover but I am beginning to see and their teachers are beginning to see a real change in the two older kids and everyone is commenting on how “aware and smart” Mason is.

Keep up with us as we chronicle our summer time fun and learning expedition.

Until Next Time

Wishing you Peace, Love and Healing

What’s Today Again???

We LOVE Monday’s around here, actually we love all days of the week but who’s counting. Today was not a late start Monday at school but all the better for me because it allowed me to get so much done this afternoon .  I have one binder down for summer homeschooling and I have 2 more to go.  I set up face to face interviews with new nanny’s today, transferred all the posts from my Blogger blog to my WordPress blog for my businesses.  Today has been filled with fun.

So today’s supplements were Juice Plus, Acetyl L Carnitine, Serrapeptase and Min Chex.  The kids were very focused today, Marcus, Jr did very well listening and following directions in Starbucks this afternoon,  Jai Lynn did a great job following and understanding directions, Mason did a great job following directions also.  We topped tonight off with showers and melatonin for the older kids, teeth brushing and a story.   There is only two more weeks left of school and I’m excited.  Marcus, Jr has a speech evaluation  this Thursday but I’m not sure about this place I’ve not heard good things about it so we probably will be cancelling.

I don’t do homework, why because my kids have done enough at school. Now in saying that we do “home work” which is chores, kitchen math, we have conversations about any and everything and we spend time together.  I never got the concept of sending homework home,  other than the fact that it’s a cycle of punishment enacted on the parent by the schools. I mean really when you go to a “job” (which is what school is essentially) who brings work home from a “job” a career maybe, a job, no. You do you time and come home.

So how does it end for me? Well I have two more blogs to post to (Stampin’ &  Organizing with Charm and Charmed Profits) then it’s yoga, meditation and bed.  Tomorrow’s “to do” list is ready to go and so am I.  Autism is treatable, your children can be healed.  If you are willing to change your mindset and put in the work it can be done.  Our days are so full because we choose for them to be. We choose to focus on the great things our kids do, we choose to focus on the joy.

So Until Next Time

Peace, Love and Recovery

Updates 6/1/13

So, we just started Juice Plus again with Marcus and I split my dosage with Jai Lynn.  Marcus had been seizure free for about 2 weeks then they started up again on Wednesday of this week, he seems to be a bit under the weather but in great spirits. The seizures never last long and his recovery time is normal.

Autism Updates ~ This Week’s Treatments

So these past few week have been very minimal, the Divine Child Drink. That’s it, I have to get more clay but we did a castor oil wrap today and will do an epsom salt bath tomorrow as that is also a way to detox.  We haven’t been up to much.

Autism Updates ~ Kid Updates

Marcus Jr – He has be more communicative, he has been more focused and he has been more helpful.  He has been answering more questions almost having conversations! We have been able to have mini conversations with him if we are asking the questions.

Jai Lynn – Has been a bit more focused and has had the ability to control her emotions a bit better.  She has been communicating more also.

Mason- Has been talking and requesting more and has understanding what is being requested of him. He can count to 5 with assistance.

Autism Updates ~ The Future

My kids are healing more and more everyday.  Parents if your child has a different ability don’t allow anyone to tell you what they Can’t do or will NEVER be able to do.  You know your baby .

Until next time

Peace Love and Healing

So, as many that have been following my blog for a while know that we have been toying around with the idea of homeschooling our three children, well once I looked at what I REALLY want to do I decided that Unschooling is really what I’m doing.  The Webster’s definition of unschooling is nothing the closet thing is unschooled which basically means stupid. Well I searched again and all that comes up is a barrage of craziness.  So I decided to come up with my own definition of Unschooling because for us the word homeschooling doesn’t totally fit.

Unschooling: The process of totally stripping away the years of brainwashing your child has received from the public school system and the world. Unschooling = Unprogramming

To me unschooling is beyond teaching your children about the love, grace and mercy of God, it is about teaching your kids “The Secret” it’s about teaching them, astrology, Feng Shui, meditation, music appreciation, art appreciation, REAL Black history and the list goes on. Unschooling is about teaching them that, “There is no spoon” (The Matrix) and that their possibilities are ENDLESS. I want to take them further than even I thought they could go.

Unschooling ~ The Fuller Way

As I sit here this getting my schedule together I realize that I am creating something new, something at least new to me.  That this curriculum will only work for my kids because that’s who it was built for.  I will incorporate a bit of traditional but also a lot of new age thinking, Montessori based learning and some Charmaineism thrown in for good measure.  I will allow my children to learn how they learn best, my daughter is a great reader and she loves to have dialogue to figure things out, my oldest song loves cooking and singing, my youngest son, well I haven’t totally figured him out yet, but what a better way to learn.

Their days will be filled with reading, doing and going not sitting.  They will be allowed to be who they uniquely are and no one else.

Unschooling ~ Social Interaction

The largest mis-conception fed to us from the mainstream educational system is that, “Children get plenty of social interaction in school” That couldn’t be further from the truth. Most schools do not foster a culture of dialogue, there are no groups, no discussions just a teacher and some light class participation.

Social interaction can be gotten from going to the grocery store, in a music class, in a group. This one I am still trying to figure out, so it is being developed like classes and places that I can take my children during the day to interact with others.

Unschooling ~ Religion

I believe homeschooling is too religious, that parents are taking their children from one set of “thou shalt and shalt nots” and throwing them into another.  Although, I do believe in God I am a spiritual being and believe that teaching my children how to think for themselves is more important than teaching them how to tightly follow a set of  rules, commandments and rituals.

Unschooling ~ The Results

So, I am looking for Montessori or Waldorf homeschooling groups to join, getting my materials together and learning how to teach the Montessori way.  I am determined to make my kids better and show them how to think versus how to test and memorize.

Well I’m off to do the hard part of creating my own curriculum..creating it! It was so much easier to have it in my head lol

Wishing you

Home Life with Special Needs

So our life has be full and wonderful at the same time.  It is almost the end of the school year and I’m excited and nervous at the same time because we will be embarking on full fledged homeschooling  and  so much more.  The kids have been doing great and they are also ready for the end of the year. This weekend has been a weekend of wonders as both children have been far exceeding the expectations that others have had for them.

We are working on using not only nutrition and supplements but the law of attraction to help them with some other things.  Marcus hasn’t had a seizure in over two weeks and we don’t expect anymore. His mantra is that he is “seizure free and healthy” I realized that although we treated him like a typical kid (pretty much) when it came to his health we where super sensitive and overbearing feeling like we had to protect him from “something” When I learned that I could change any condition, just via my thought process we decided to try it on Marcus,Jr.  So this is what has been going on for him this week.

His communication skills have been amazing over these past few weeks.  Marcus, Jr has been requesting what he want’s with little to no whining or fussing, his attention span as increased as well as his focus.  He has been extremely helpful and just more aware.

Jai Lynn  has been doing a good job of understanding what you say to her, she has been doing a good job of asking the right questions and not just asking questions to have something to say.

Mason has been doing a great job of communicating also.

All in all our kids are doing GREAT and we only see improvement for the future.

Until next time

Wishing you peace, love and health
